Resting on a circular Egyptian porphyry base, this fascinating bronze figure of a young cherub is a striking example of the Venetian workmanship of the 16th Century. With the head turned slightly to the right and the right hand resting on the chest, the young winged Putto is depicted in a very sweet pose. The surface of the bronze shows a patina consistent with age.
