The vase, of the lekythos type, originally used to contain perfumed oils, is decorated on the body...The scene portrays a maenad playing a flute, surrounded by two dancing satyrs. The vase, of the lekythos type, originally used to contain perfumed oils, is decorated on the body with concentric bands and a meander band above, while the neck is adorned with two bands of dotted rays.
A similar lekythos by the Beldam Painter with two dancing satyrs can be found in the Musée de Picardie, Amiens, 6th cent. no. 3057.310; Beazley Archive no. 306887.Provenance
